Christmas markets in the Salento region - Puglia, Southern Italy - Magic baroque city - Lecce

Do you know where one of the oldest Christmas markets is located? Neither in Bolzano, nor in Bavaria: in Lecce, in the middle of the Salento region in Puglia, Southern Italy. In Lecce you find the oldest and most traditional nativity scenes organized as a Christmas fair ("Fiera dei pupi") - since the 14th century.
